Congratulations to Lana Del Rey who has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart today with her third album, Ultraviolence.

Ultraviolence has outsold its closest competitor, The Hunting Party by Linkin Park (Number 2 today), by almost two copies to one.

Lana previously hit the UK top spot back in 2012 with her debut UK release, Born To Die. It went on to become one of the Top 5 biggest selling albums of that year.

Sam Smith holds firm at Number 3 with In The Lonely Hour, while Coldplay slide two places to Number 4 with Ghost Stories. This week’s Top 5 is completed by last week’s chart topper, Kasabian’s 48:13 (Number 5).

New Entries and High Climbers

Canadian producer Deadmau5 enters at Number 14 with his seventh studio album, While (1, while Tiesto enters at 22 with A Town Called Paradise. It is the Dutch DJ/producer’s first album release in almost five years.

The Klaxons enter at 39 with Love Frequency, while Jennifer Lopez narrowly misses out on a Top 40 album today. Her eighth studio release, AKA, finishes the week at Number 41.

This week’s highest climber is Ed Sheeran’s 2011 debut album, +. It surges 41 places to Number 9. His new album, x is released in the UK tomorrow (Monday, June 23).
