Lady Gaga’s comeback song Stupid Love is battling for the UK’s Official Number 1 this week.

The lead single from the Oscar winner’s upcoming sixth album (possibly titled Chromatica) is at Number 2 on today’s Official Chart: First Look.

The Official Chart: First Look, on BBC Radio 1 today between 6pm – 7pm, offers a first glance of the Top 20 ahead of Friday’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The chart is based on preliminary sales and early streaming reports.

Stupid Love is just shy of 1,200 chart sales behind the Number 1 spot, currently occupied by The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights after two days of downloads and streams. The Weeknd has the edge on streaming, with Gaga ahead on downloads.

Stupid Love is on track to become Lady Gaga’s 13th UK Top 10 single, and first since her chart-topping collaboration Shallow with Bradley Cooper from the A Star Is Born soundtrack. View Lady Gaga's full UK chart history.

Physical by Dua Lipa is on track to become her eighth UK Top 10 hit, up five slots at Number 9, and US rapper Doja Cat could claim her first UK Top 10 single on Friday with Say So, up nine places midweek at Number 10.

Becky Hill’s first Top 40 single as a lead artist Better Off Without You featuring Shift K3y is set to climb further this week, up even to Number 16.

The Official Singles Chart is revealed here on OfficialCharts.com every Friday at 5.45pm. Listen to the Top 40 countdown live on BBC Radio 1's Official Chart show with Scott Mills every Friday from 4pm.

As much as I love 'Blinding Lights', I think it needs to step aside, the song has already spent over 3 months on the chart, we need something new.

I'd love it if Lady Gaga makes 1 as it will be poetic justice to those ageist Radio 1 idiots (and even Radio 2 didn't play it) for snubbing 33 year old Gaga as another one past it in their rap/ grime obsessed world. They'll have no choice but to play it then wouldn't they? It's not like it's a rude song .

Stupid Love might not make it onto a best of Lady Gaga album in future years but it is still a pretty good song.

I live in the U.S so I can't affect anything lol. I just hope for a top 10 debut which would be better than Perfect Illusion in the U.K.

Hey Jstar! :)

If it's #2 now, then I imagine it'll almost certainly stick around in the Top 10 by the time the final chart is posted! Lady Gaga's numbers do tend to fall a lot during the week sadly.

Hey Piran, well Shallow was the exception recently but it had a movie lol.

Well Perfect Illusion debuted at 12. I think this could debut around 5 to 7 which would give Gaga another top 10 hit in the U.K which would be awesome. It definitely though is holding up way better than Perfect Illusion did around the world.

So I just found out that if 'Stupid Love' does indeed get a Top 10 finish, then it'll be her 13th visit to the region overall & first outside of 'A Star Is Born' since 'Do What U Want' with R Kelly back in 2013! :)

Loving that ‘Blinding Lights’ could get a whole month at #1!

‘Stupid Love’ reminds me so much of some of the older Lady Gaga hits, so that being in second is really awesome.

‘Physical’ & ‘Say So’ both heading for the Top 10 are very good to see! :)
