Jonas Blue and Dakota release acoustic version of Fast Car remix: Premiere

Reinventing a time-honoured favourite for the dance floor is nothing new, but taking on a track as popular and unique as Tracy Chapman's Fast Car was always going to be a big risk for rising producer Jonas Blue.

Fortunately for the 21 year-old it, was a gamble that paid off; and his tropical house revamp sent the '80s classic to a new high, reaching Number 2 on last week's Official Singles Chart (you can see where all the different versions of Fast Car have charted here).

Having revived the track to enormous success, the rising star has now unveiled an acoustic version of the song - premiered below - which strips it back down to something that sounds a lot closer to the original and highlights the rich and bluesy vocal stylings of guest singer Dakota; a singer he discovered by chance in an East London pub last year.
