The super-posh singer speaks to chat show host Jonathan Ross about his Royal connections.

He may be known for whipping off his top and crooning You’re Beautiful – and selling a few million albums into the bargain – but before he was a popstar, James Blunt was standing to attention in the army.

Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV on Saturday, Blunty reminisces about his military days, when he was a captain, and one of his rather famous colleagues. Yes, hellraising Prince Harry served alongside the million selling star. And while James Blunt was Harry’s superior, he wouldn’t be pulling rank if they were to meet again.

"He joined a little bit after me, so there was a time when Harry would call me Sir, perhaps,” explains James. “But now I would call him Your Highness."

You can catch the full interview with James on The Jonathan Ross Show, Saturday 18 January, 9.45pm, ITV.

Since moving on from the army, James has enjoyed massive success in the UK and beyond. He’s had eight Top 10 hits, including the massive Number 1 You’re Beautiful. The album it was taken from, 2005’s Back To Bedlam, sold a whopping 3.2 million copies.

James had had a bit of a tough time on Twitter, but has taken on critics in the best possible way – by responding with witty quips. But he has a few ideas on why people might have taken against him: "I have a stupid speaking voice and I sing like a girl and I sing songs that are, I suppose, a bit effeminate," he says.

The Boy Blunt’s new single, Heart to Heart, is out this Sunday. His last single, Bonfire Heart was his first Top 10 hit in almost six years and was co-written with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. His latest album, Moon Landing, recently hit Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart.

Surely a collaboration with Prince Harry can't be far away? A concept album called Back To Buckingham Palace, maybe? James? No? Oh.
