James Arthur keeps hold of singles' Number 1 for a third week

Plus, Bruno Mars returns to the Top 40 and there's a big climb for Hailee Steinfeld.

James Arthur today cements his comeback as he easily secures a third week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.

Say You Won't Let Go, which James performed on The X Factor live results show on Sunday, sold almost 50,000 downloads and racked up over 5.61 million listens in the last seven days scoring its highest weekly combined sales so far, in its fifth week of release.

Former chart-toppers The Chainsmokers climbed back up one place to 2 with Closer feat. Halsey, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's Side to Side rises one to score a new chart peak at 4 and Sia's The Greatest feat. Kendrick Lamar, returns to the Top 5, going back up three places (5).

Chart highlights

It's a 10th Top 10 for Bruno Mars as he returns with new single 24K Magic, going straight in at 9 to claim this week's highest brand new entry. Next, Zara Larsson continues her rise with Ain’t My Fault, up three to Number 13.

There's a big climb for Hailee Steinfeld, Grey and Zedd, as Starving leaps 11 slots to 17, while Norwegian producer Neiked is also making progress – laidback dance tune Sexual zooms 10 places to 24.

Drake's Controlla makes a return, rising four spots to 39, meaning the Canadian rapper has three songs in the Top 40 this week.

50,000 downloads & 5.61 million streams... well that gives a combined weekly total of 106,100. To be honest, in 2016, any song that gets 100,000+ across both metrics in 7 days has had a very good week. :)
Congratulations to James Arthur for another week at #1 & I think his reign at the top is going to last until at least the end of the October. Great to see '24k Magic' debut at #9, also I really 'Starving' & 'Sexual', so it's awesome that they are climbing.
