He's one of 2016's many comeback kids, and James Arthur isn't going anywhere in a hurry, as he looks set to keep his place at the top of the Official Singles Chart.

The X Factor winner made a triumphant return on Sunday evening and performed his chart-topper Say You Won't Let Go on the show that made him a star, which is sure to have a big impact this week.

Say You Won't Let Go's nearest rival, the former Number 1 Closer from Chainsmokers feat. Halsey, is 12,000 sales and 125,000 streams behind, rising one place.

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande's Side To Side, feat Nicki Minaj, rises a place to reach a new chart peak at 4.

New entries and high climbers

Bruno Mars makes his big comeback with his first release since his million-selling appearance on Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk – 24K Magic looks set to be this week's highest new entry, at 7.

Zara Larsson's Ain't My Fault continues its ascent toward the Top 10, up four to 12, while Emeli Sandé's Hurts is on track to break the Top 20 for the first time, rising nine spots to 18.

Also eyeing a Top 20 placing is Hailee Steinfeld's collaboration with Grey and Zedd, Starving, which is up eight to 20, and Swedish producer Neiked continues to rise – Sexual is up six to 28.

Olly Murs is on course for a 17th Top 40 with Grow Up, new at 33, while right behind him, Lady Gaga could be on her way to an 18th Top 40 with Million Reasons, new at 34.

Olly Murs' new song had better hit the top 40, Ariana Grande had better not climb, Ain't My Fault had better not hit the top 10, Bruno Mars had better score high with his new single and there needs to be more top 10 movement. That just about sums up the chart update.
