Harry Styles scores the biggest Number 1 single of the year in Ireland with As It Was

Harry's straight in at the top, while Lil Tjay and Shawn Mendes make Top 50 debuts.

Harry Styles rockets to Number 1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart with As It Was.

The lead single from his upcoming third solo album is Harry’s first ever Number 1 single in Ireland as a solo artist – as part of One Direction Harry scored six chart-toppers. As It Was lands straight in as the biggest Number 1 of the year so far, racking up the highest week of chart sales of any Irish Chart-topper yet in 2022.

Meanwhile, Camila Cabello climbs three to Number 9 with Bam Bam ft. Ed Sheeran, Camila’s sixth Top 10 hit in Ireland. Outside of the Top 10, British singer Cat Burns returns to her Number 13 peak with Go, while Dave and Stormzy rebound seven places to 16 with Clash.

Canadian singer Shawn Mendes debuts at Number 21 with bouncy break-up song When You’re Gone, while American rapper and singer Lil Tjay debuts at Number 27 with the Iyaz-sampling In My Head.

Belters Only and Jazzy leap 14 places with Don’t Stop Just Yet at Number 29, and Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar returns to the chart at 31. Finally, US singer Dylan Conrique jumps 11 places with Birthday Cake, finishing this week at Number 33.
