Taking place on November 23 at 8.30pm GMT, the virtual gig will be available exclusively via the MelodyVR app to watch through virtual reality headsets or smartphones. Tickets are on sale now through LiveNation.

Fontaines D.C.'s show follows recent announcements of gigs from Liam Gallagher and Burna Boy to also happen on the app. Across the world the likes of Post Malone, Kelly Clarkson and Lewis Capaldi have played MelodyVR concerts before.

Fans will be able to choose from multiple camera angles to make the show their own, and can look forward to a never-repeated night of post-punk entertainment that will span material from Fontaines D.C.'s 2020 album A Hero's Death and Choice Music Prize-nominated debut Dogrel.

Fontaines D.C.'s new album A Hero's Death peaked at Number 2 on the Official Irish Albums Chart, losing out on the top spot by just 112 sales to The Coronas. The record is their second Top 5 album after Dogrel topped out at Number 4 in 2019. A Hero's Death is also the fastest-selling vinyl album of the year in Ireland.
