Fast & Furious 8 speeding to Number 1 on the Official Video Chart

Wonder Woman is set for a drop from the top, while the first season of The Crown is Top 10 bound.

Fast & Furious 8 has got plenty of your engines revving this week and is racing towards Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

In today's Chart Update, we can exclusively reveal that 94,000 copies of the latest instalment in the franchise have been purchased on DVD or Blu-ray, enough to outsell the rest of the Top 10 combined. The complete eight movie Fast & Furious Collection is also expected to chart, and is at Number 38 today.

All previous instalments of the Fast & Furious franchise have peaked at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart, except the very first movie which hit Number 3 in 2002.

After shifting 180,000 units last week, Wonder Woman slips from the top today to Number 2 at the halfway mark, ahead of three former Number 1s: Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge (3), Beauty and the Beast (4), and Moana (5).

New entries and high climbers

The Crown: Season One, Netflix's popular take on the life of her majesty The Queen is new at Number 6 at today's midweek stage, ahead of political drama Churchill at 7, and Christian drama The Shack at Number 7.

Thomas & Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor will keep the kids entertained at Number 13, Marvel movies Doctor Strange and Captain America: Civil War are destined to re-enter the Top 40 at Numbers 14 and 19 respectively, and Series One of All Round to Mrs Brown's impacts at 22 today.

Finally, Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience trots its way to Number 25 and The Complete Sixth Season of Once Upon A Time could magic a Top 40 position, and is at Number 40.
