The cast of Disney’s latest hit Encanto are heading for Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart this week.

We Don’t Talk About Bruno has become the breakout song of the film’s soundtrack, and is set to jump two spots to Number 1, according to the Official Chart: First Look.

It would be the first-ever UK Number 1 for each of the cast members credited on the track; Carolina Gaitán, Diane Guerrero, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Stephanie Beatriz and Mauro Castillo. In the context of the film, the song sees main character Mirabel hear the story of her missing Uncle Bruno… who her magical family do not talk about.

Two more songs from Encanto could be present in the Top 20 this Friday; eldest sister anthem Surface Pressure by Jessica Darrow might also rise to a new peak of Number 6 while the introductory The Family Madrigal is currently expected to enter the Top 20 at Number 19.

Meanwhile, Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran could rise to a new peak inside the Top 10, their collaboration Peru is currently tracking to jump to Number 4, which would be Fireboy DML's highest-ever UK chart placing.

Outside the Top 10, Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott continue to climb the Official Singles Chart, their dance track Where Are You Now? Is currently tracking to rise once more to a new peak of Number 15.

When I think of all the great classic Disney songs from the past 80 years and THIS is the one that makes it to No1?

if Encanto cast is #1 with We Don’t Talk About Bruno on friday, it could became the
first Disney Song to reach the Top on UK Singles Charts and make Chart
History, thanks to the modern world of streams, playlists, Top 10
Downloads and non singles edit rules since 2007 getting towards the
Singles Charts, a massive achievement, i am shocked it took all these
years, decades, and nearly a half a century (nearly 70 Years) for a big brand
like Disney to reach the Top spot and #1 in UK Charts, and i'm Sure more
Disney films and soundtrack is to follow to get #1.

There has been far greater Disney tracks from the movies but I guess they are finally getting through the charts now. A lot of you tube hits from the youngsters will definitely be helping

Disney's Encanto, We Don't Talk about Bruno could make UK Singles Charts History from 21st Jan 2022, as the first Disney song to reach the Top of UK Charts since 1952 when the charts started that a whopping 69/nearly 70 years later, the charts to have a Disney song at #1. that is mindblowing, hate or love the track, the stats are there, also by the way the singles charts for UK has helped by rules of Sales,Downloads in 21st Century, Non singles Edit from 2007, Streaming music since 2014, Youtube plays from 2018 with ACR/SCR apply.

I love how your average score of the top half is 50% & for the bottom half it’s just 1%! :P

Disney songs are not proper songs.

honestly I don’t think I’m going to comment next week if this “song” goes number 1 because it really doesn’t deserve it, makes me want to kms every time I hear it

getting used to disliking the #1 every week XD
nice to see sam fender d block europe lost frequencies and joel corry in the top 20 :)

Yeah #1 this week looks to be below average again, but it is better than last week at least!

avatar

rayever

2

ugh not this song. genuinely THE worst song I’ve heard in ages. surface pressure is okay but even then it’s 4/10 at the most :/

Chuffed about Sam Fender still holding up in the Top 5 though. :)

This Friday could make UK Charts History from 21st Jan 2022, and the first since on record since 1952, for a Disney's Song to Reach #1 in UK Singles Charts, Encanto with We Don’t Talk About Bruno, Could break 69 years History!!! A Big moment for music and Disney.

Piran

It would be a huge cultural moment for sure, even if I’m not exactly a massive fan of the song myself! :P

I wonder if this is a start of Disney's Song's getting higher into the charts, as it great to see family friendly gentre songs in the charts expecally as the charts is broadcasted in the afternoon, it may not be everyone cup of tea to see lots of lots of Disney's songs or music, or childrens theme, but sometimes to mainly it nice to see that then keep having to see or hear aduilt R&B/grime/rap songs and pop vocal artist using one or two swear words for radio and to have to make a clean version to get into the charts played on the radio,Like Gayle on radio is braned ABC (the real title is ABCDEFU), but we know that version ABC to stream or buy hardly is popular, rare to find at this stage, as that the radio clean version edit, so the real title-songs swears a few time, the real version everyone is buying the most and is the explict knows as ABCDEFU.

It’s honestly too early to tell if ‘Encanto’s level of success on the singles chart is going to be a one-off this year or the start of a Disney era! :P

avatar

BleeUK

1

i agree with you, i know music industry have to think of the audience having too many Disney songs may lead to bad judgement for the older teen or music buyers or streamers, but i do get that charts should be a variety matter and have family friendly lyrics and songs to please all audience, as in my view, and this may be a bad or negitive view for some people what i am about to say, but there is more mature audience songs than family friendly numbers or hits and should be cut from down like 15 cert to PG-13 to U/UC, and the only time so called we escape to bring back variety or retro is December Month, as you can tell The Top 40 around christmas is not full of mature , R&B, dance hits compared to most months of Radio 1 Top 40 Charts that flooded,

If We Don't Talk About Bruno is number one on Friday, this will be the first ever Disney movie song to top the UK charts. It would be great for this to happen.

I really don’t get the hype behind the ‘Encanto’ songs & even then, I’d rather have ‘Surface Pressure’ at #1 instead. :/

avatar

2

yeah surface pressure is better than Bruno, it’s kind of growing on me

Piran

Hopefully it’s the song that ends up with better longevity, haha. :)

I don't think it's to do with the movie itself but rather that's it the 60th main line animated disney movie which they were using as a selling point in the trailers

avatar

rayever

1

yeah, it’s still 4/10 at the most for me but it’s definitely good for what it is

avatar

afrog

i prefer bruno but thats probably bc its catchier, both i dont like much tho but i can bare them lol
neither of which i can say for abcdefu :(

avatar

Piran

1

I think the quality of #1’s from last January have been way better so far! :(

avatar

Piran

0

Hmm, I’d rate it a little higher than that, but I think we can both agree it’s the “standout” of the soundtrack! :P

avatar

Piran

0

It’s literally becoming big because of a milestone rather than the actual film itself? :/

avatar

Mrsliver

1

The movie is very popular but I doubt the majority of people listening to the soundtrack have watched it in full

avatar

Piran

0

I think a lot of people are mainly going to watch the film because of the soundtrack, rather than vice versa, haha. :)

Is this for real? Not complaining though XD

since body, according to what she said on the server.

bearing in mind, a lot of what she likes in the chart doesn’t hit number 1, but that’s what happens when we always have songs spending a long time at number 1 - look at the 11 weeks for bad habits and the 8 weeks for easy on me since then

avatar

⁉️

I mean to be fair, it’s mainly because the recent state of Number 1 are kinda bad to me... 😫
