Emeli Sande’s record breaking debut album drops out of the Official Albums Chart Top 10 for the first time since release.

Emeli Sande’s debut album, Our Version Of Events, has dropped out of the Official Albums Chart Top 10 for the first time since it was released in February of last year.

Our Version Of Events has clocked up a staggering 66 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 (including 10 weeks at Number 1), beating the previous record of 62 weeks held by The Beatles’ debut album, Please Please Me, for nearly 50 years. In its 67th week on the Chart, Our Version Of Events falls seven places from Number 8 to Number 15.

To date, Our Version Of Events has sold over 1.88 million copies in the UK alone. It was also the biggest selling album of 2012, and it is currently the biggest selling album of 2013 so far, too.

We caught up with Emeli last month to chat about beating The Beatles' chart record, and ask her about her career hilights to date: from getting her first break in music, to being nominated as Critics’ Choice Award at The BRITs, opening (and closing!) the London 2012 Olympic Games, right through to becoming a fully-fledged Official Chart record breaker!
