Ella Henderson and Tom Grennan are on course to claim this week’s highest new entry on the Official Singles Chart with Let’s Go Home Together.

The collaboration is the UK’s most downloaded song so far this week following the duo’s performance of the track on The Graham Norton Show on Friday (Feb. 19), and lands at Number 17 on the Official Chart: First Look.

If the song’s momentum continues, Let’s Go Home Together would mark Ella’s first Top 40 single as a lead artist in over six years, since Yours went Top 20 in December 2014. In that six years, Ella has collaborated on Top 40 hits with Sigma, Kygo and Jax Jones, and has uncredited vocals on Nathan Dawe and KSI’s 2020 Top 3 single Lighter.

Let’s Go Home Together will also mark Tom Grennan’s first Top 40 single, although he could also claim his second this week as Little Bit Of Love climbs to Number 36.

The Official Chart: First Look, which airs on BBC Radio 1 each Sunday between 6pm – 7pm, offers a first glance of the Top 20 ahead of Friday’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The chart is based on preliminary sales and early streaming reports.

A belated birthday present for Olivia Rodrigo who celebrated her 18th birthday yesterday (Feb. 20) – Drivers License is set to pull over at Number 1 for a seventh week.

A flurry of dance anthems climbing the Official Chart are set to hit new highs this week, including Tiesto’s The Business (4), Riton x Nightcrawlers’ Friday ft. Mufasa & Hypeman (5), and ATB, Topic & A7S’ Your Love (14).

Finally US rapper Cardi B’s latest single Up could enter the Top 20 for the first time, up three to 19 on today’s sales flash.

The Official Singles Chart is revealed here on OfficialCharts.com every Friday at 5.45pm. Listen to the Top 40 countdown live on BBC Radio 1's Official Chart show with Scott Mills every Friday from 4pm.

F*** off, Blinding Lights.

I would feel like 'Wellerman' could be in competition for No.1 and 'The Business' could shockingly be in competition for the top spot. I don't think 'Calling My Phone' should be in competition for the top spot. I really hope that 'Driver's License' won't be No.1 on Friday.

Why do you feel that because you don’t like a song, that it shouldn’t be in competition.

Calling My Phone is an absolute tune anyway.

Neither of the songs you listed are getting there next week or ever, and that’s definitely a good thing.

Let’s face it, Driver’s License is staying until ACR, as much as I don’t want it to.

I get it, we both don't like that song, but at least a few of my favourite songs are at the charts which is what I should worry about not the songs I don't like.

avatar

⁉️

1

Yeah, that’s probably a good idea. :)

I swear if 'Driver's License' is on No.1, I will cry because I have had enough of it being No.1. Talk about being known for the song not the name.

Better save your tears (not the song by The Weeknd sadly) for next week then. :|

It’s also too early to tell if she’s a one hit wonder or not, it’s literally her first song. For all we know, she’s the next Ariana Grande.

I actually like 'Calling My Phone' and 'Driver's License' doesn't need a seventh week on No.1 because I don't like the song. I would rather have 'Wellerman' or some other song be No.1 rather than that trashy song of Olivia's. I am just stating the truth and my opinions.

She isn't though I don't think. Ariana is going to be more successful than her. She is just too young to make music compared to Ariana Grande so no she is not going to be the next Ariana and I don't think comparing other people helps because she is nothing like Ariana Grande. I am sorry if I have offended anyone and the artist herself but it is my opinion.

From your newest comment:

“I don't think 'Calling My Phone' should be in competition for the top spot.”

And speaking about Driver’s License, while I do agree it doesn’t need another week, one person’s opinion (which you’re trying to claim is fact), doesn’t matter.

Also, what’s trashy about it?

The only reason I made the comparison was because they both came from Disney, and both of their first singles did insanely internationally.

Plus, Ariana was barely older when The Way came out, and Olivia being younger is better for long term success anyway.

Can someone make another song go to No.1 on Friday.

avatar

As much as I wish I could, no.

I have a few words to describe 'Driver's License' being No.1, Rubbish, boring and undeserved.

You (and me) not liking doesn’t mean it’s success is undeserved.

I am sick of 'Drivers License' being No.1. People please get it off No.1.

avatar

⁉️

1

No, they don’t. They don’t need to do anything in fact.

Why should I let people listen to this song? It is a sad song which I don't like because I cannot relate to it.

avatar

You did not just say somebody shouldn’t listen to a song because you don’t relate to it. 😂😂😂

I listen to songs that I don’t even relate to all the time, and sometimes I hate music I can relate to.

And what are you gonna do, ban the song?

Come on Ella, Im a real big fan of her since the x factor and her shocking elimination...

I quite like her too, shame she’s fell off in terms of the chart.

I'm sad to see 'Love Story [Taylor's Version]' drop out of the Top 20 completely, but I'm honestly not surprised either. :/

Same, although I knew it was going to happen.

She may even be out of the Top 40 by now. :(

I guess we'll find out in 20 minutes from now, but yeah, I really hope that 'Love Story [Taylor's Version]' can somehow remain in the Top 40 for a second week. :)

'Sweet Melody' at #3... how, or is that a typo? :P

It would be awesome if that did return to the Top 3 though! ;)

Definitely a mistake, it’s supposed to be the brilliant Calling My Phone.

EDIT: Oh, it’s already been updated...

It seems like a very uneventful week overall, but I'm happy that 'Friday' moved into the Top 5 & that 'Let's Go Home Together' is currently set to be the highest debuting song. :)

avatar

1

Both of those things are fine, but I’d rather have seen the new JLS song be the highest debut.

It isn’t even good (and neither are any of their songs), but I love them because I did ages ago (like I said on the older charts, I’m feeling very nostalgic today). :)

Buzzing let's go home together looks set for highest new entry, although it's sales are pumping it up so high I think it will enter lower but definitely looks like Tom will be getting 2 top 40 tracks come Friday! Hopefully it's streaming will improve as the week goes on.

I immediately thought of how happy you would be to see 'Let's Go Home Together' in the Top 20! :P

I haven't even heard the new JLS song, haha.

Isn't it called 'Driver' & it's apparently meant to be drill, right?

It must've been very frontloaded then, given that it entered the Spotify charts at #6 on Friday! :O

I heard it for the first time on the BT40 on Sunday & I'd give it a strong 7/10 based on the first listen. :)

It was a strong 9 out of 10 for me and I'm still listening to it everyday and not getting tired of it yet! Hope it gains some traction next week but buzzing that little bit of love just keeps increasing in popularity too!
