Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits claims UK's Number 1 trending song

Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits claims the Number 1 spot on this week's Official Trending Chart.

The 80s-pop inspired dance track is a deviation from what we might usually expect from Ed, but clearly a welcome one for fans, as the single is currently on course to debut at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, clocking up 2.6 million streams in the first three days of its release.

If Bad Habits holds on, it will be Ed Sheeran's landmark tenth Number 1 single in the UK. See all of Ed Sheeran's hit songs on his Official Chart history.

Bad Habits - whose video features Vampire Ed in a snazzy pink suit - is Ed's first official single since 2019. Back in December Ed released acoustic song Afterglow, though this was just a one-off for the fans, according to the artist.

Elsewhere in the Official Trending Chart Top 20, Doja Cat earns two places following the release of her album Planet Her - You Right with The Weeknd, and Ain't Sh*t - while Tyler, The Creator also enjoys two trending tracks with Wusyaname ft. Youngboy Never Broke Again & Ty Dolla $ign, and Lumberjack. Both songs feature on his new album Call Me If You Get Lost.

Other hits on the rise come from record-breaking Australian artist Tones & I, who is eyeing up her second Top 40 hit with Fly Away, and Marshmello & Jonas Brothers' Leave Before You Love, which is sailing towards the Top 40 after three weeks of climbing up the Top 100.

Finally, several British rap artists are making an impact with their new releases this week. Aitch's Learning Curve, Fredo's Talk Of The Town, Pound Signs by Headie One and Rollin' by Birmingham artist Mist ft. Burna Boy are all set to enter the Official Singles Chart this week.
