Dua Lipa has announced the release date of her next single.

Responding to a Twitter account (on August 25) celebrating her success on Spotify, Dua reacted by sharing an amazing update on upcoming music.

"Okkkkkkkk okk okkkkk!!! My babies I love you! I got something coming for you in 12 days ️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️"

The lightning emojis are of course hinting to Electricity, Dua's confirmed collaboration with Silk City, Mark Ronson & Diplo's new supergroup. While we knew the song existed, we didn't know a release date until now. Mark down Thursday September 6 in your calendars.

So what will Electricity sound like? Mark Ronson has confirmed that the track was co-written with Romy from The xx and Florence Welch, and is "spiritual piano house music". Mark also praised Dua's vocals: "She has this deep, soulful voice that harkens back to gospel house."

Dua shared more details in an interview with Rolling Stone, stating: "It’s something different, but it does lead into some of new music that I’m going to bring in my albums. It’s got some throwback elements to it; it’s dancey; it’s still a pop song."

Dua Lipa's self-titled debut album is 2018's fourth biggest, and the biggest album of the year so far by a female artist, with sales and streams combined. View the Official Top 40 biggest albums of 2018 so far.
