Drake's One Dance first hit the Number 1 spot on the Official Trending Chart before sitting pretty on top of the Official Singles Chart for 15 straight weeks. Will lightning strike twice with Drizzy's new track?

The Canadian rapper's brand new single Fake Love was released last Wednesday (October 26), and appeared on last week's Official Singles Chart at Number 37 after just a few days of being made available. Another new Drake track Sneakin' also enters on this week's trending tally.

Now that the track is picking up steam, Fake Love has risen to Number 9 as of yesterday's Chart Update, corresponding to an impressive performance on this week's Top 20 countdown of the biggest songs trending in music this week. Read on for more information on how the Official Trending Chart is compiled.

Fake Love is taken from Drake's new project More Life: The Playlist, set for a December release. The collection of tracks will contain new material by Drake and other artists. This latest offering from Drake follows his Number 1 album Views, which spawned the UK's second-longest reigning Number 1 single of all-time, One Dance.

Elsewhere, Official Singles Chart gains for Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar's Don't Wanna Know and Galantis' Hook N Sling tag team Love On Me translate to major Official Trending Chart upward climbs, while debuts from Jonas Blue & Raye along with Louisa Johnson see those acts debut high.

Kideko and George Kwali rise in impressive fashion with Crank It (Woah) as the song continues to make major waves, and Lady Gaga's Million Reasons enjoys a post-Joanne release boost. Little Mix and Emeli Sande also released new material last Friday, both of which are buzzworthy tracks that make this week's Official Trending Chart.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has already highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza and Drake's One Dance.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
