Disclosure have raced ahead of QOTSA overnight... but it's not over yet.

It’s been one of the closest battles of the year and it doesn’t look like it’s over yet. The race to be Official Album Chart Number 1 has been neck and neck all week, with British electro upstarts Disclosure challenging American rockers Queens Of The Stone Age.

As seen on OfficialCharts.com yesterday, Josh Homme’s QOTSA have been in the lead all week, and their sixth long player …Like Clockwork had looked on course to be their first-ever UK Number 1 album. But underdogs Guy and Howard Lawrence of Disclosure have been snapping at their heels with debut album Settle, closing the gap to a mere 50 copies.

Today, we have some exciting news: we can now reveal that there has been a big change at the top, with the Reigate duo storming ahead in an overnight sales splurge, putting Settle out in front by over 2,000 copies!

Will QOTSA’s …Like Clockwork have to make do with second prize? Or can they reclaim the lead and leave Disclosure ‘settling’ for runner-up? QOTSA have a loyal following, and Disclosure have been no strangers to the Official Singles Chart throughout 2013, so it’s still anyone’s for the taking.

But it ain’t over until ‘til it’s over: this nail-biting Official Chart race closes at midnight on Saturday, and the power to change it is in your hands. If you’ve got a favourite, make sure you back them by then.

The results will be announced live on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart Show with Jameela Jamil from 4–7pm on Sunday, with the Official Albums Chart Top 100 available right here on OfficialCharts.com from 7pm.

Things looked very different on the Official Chart Update on Wednesday. See how things stood then with the full Official Albums Chart Update Top 40.
