Dermot Kennedy announces release of new single Something to Someone coming out next week

Dermot Kennedy has announced the release of his first single of 2022, Something To Someone.

Taking to Twitter, Dermot revealed that the new track will be released very soon - May 5, to be precise.

"I’m so so happy to announce that my new single 'Something to Someone' is out on May 5th!" Dermot wrote.

"I can't wait for you to hear this one. Been holding on to it for a while now."

Dermot also posted a very cheeky snippet of the new song on his TikTok - and to these ears at least it sounds like a rollicking acoustic-fuelled banger, with an uplifting chorus.

The Rathcoole native has enjoyed an ascendant journey to the top of the charts over the last few years. Dermot's debut album Without Fear was a Number 1 hit on the Official Irish Albums Chart, and he scored a Number 1 hit single in 2020 with Giants.

Dermot was last seen on the charts last year with his single Better Days - which reached a peak of Number 4 in Ireland - which was one of the Top 40 biggest songs in Ireland of 2021.
