Deadpool 2 is set to claim this week's Number 1 on the Official Video Chart.

In today's Official Video Chart Update, a midweek glance at the UK's DVD and Blu-ray sales so far this week, the popular anti-hero movie starring Ryan Reynolds has shifted an impressive 142,000 units, making it a strong contender for the top spot on Sunday's final chart.

Deadpool 2's sales so far this week mean it outsells the rest of the Top 40 combined. Come Sunday's final chart published at 7pm, it will mark the second chart-topper for the X-Men spin-off; the first film topped the Official Video Chart in 2016 with a first week total of 418,000, staying on top for three weeks.

Elsewhere in the midweek Top 5, Avengers: Infinity War slips to Number 2, a double pack of both Deadpool movies charts at Number 4, and Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista's Escape Plan 2 impacts at Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

Supergirl: The Complete Third Season and Gotham's Fourth Season continue a high-profile week for our favourite heroes, flying to Numbers 6 and 9 respectively. Tom Ellis fantasy police drama Lucifer occupies Number 11, ahead of more new entries from On Chesil Beach (12) and Life Of The Party (13).

Finally, three more fresh releases look to claim a Top 40 placing: Season 9 of NCIS: Los Angeles is at 18, Gabrielle Union thriller Breaking In enters at 20, and The Thing is at Number 31 following a release on 4K.
