David Bowie's Blackstar album is heading for a third week at Number 1

Plus there are new entries from Suede, Megadeth and Savages.

David Bowie’s Blackstar continues to lead the way on today’s Official Albums Chart Update and is set to spend a third consecutive week at the top spot.

The record heads up a further ten Bowie albums currently inside the Top 40, three of which are in the Top 10: 2002’s Best Of Bowie at 4, Nothing Has Changed at 6, and Hunk Dory at 10.

Further down, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust is up eight places to Number 11, Aladdin Sane is up two at 20, Low jumps eight spots to 23, Heroes leaps 15 places to 30 and Diamond Dogs is up 24 to Number 31.

Bowie’s 1983 album Let’s Dance is at 37, and his 1975 collection Young Americans vaults a massive 61 places to 38.

New entries

Five new releases are on course to enter this week’s Top 40: Alt-rockers Suede are on track for this week’s highest new entry with their latest record Night Thoughts, and veteran LA thrash metal band Megadeth could be making a return to the Top 10 for this first time in 22 years with their latest set Dystopia, currently at Number 7.

Prog artist Steven Wilson starts at Number 8 with 4 ½, London rockers Savages debut at Number 14 with their second album Adore Life, and Bristol band Coasts are currently at Number 25 with their self-titled debut.

Finally, Americana star Lucinda Williams is new at 27 with The Ghosts Of Highway 20, Rachel Platten’s Wildfire rebounds back into the Top 40 at 33, as does Rudimental’s We The Generation, currently back at 36.
