After just 48 hours on sale, Daft Punk storm the UK's Official Singles Chart Top 3 with Get Lucky FT Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.

Daft Punk have snatched an astonishing Top 3 placing on the Official Chart today, after only 48 hours on sale for new single Get Lucky -this week’s Number 3.

The anticipation levels behind Random Access Memories, the French electronic duo’s upcoming fourth album have been built to epic proportions in recent weeks online – a “masterclass in teasing” as The Guardian put it - with mysterious disco-drenched teaser clips from ‘the robots’ dripped out to excitable fans across the social media-sphere.

Get Lucky is the first official single out of the trap, featuring N.E.R.D’s Pharrell Williams and Chic guitarist and founding funk master, Nile Rodgers.

The marketing campaign is clearly already paying dividends, as UK fans have descended in their droves to download more than 50,000 copies in the past 48 hours, propelling Get Lucky to this week’s Number 3 slot on the Official Singles Chart.

Despite only being available since Friday morning, Get Lucky is now Daft Punk’s second highest charting single of their career, behind 2000’s club smash One More Time, which peaked at Number 2.

Given this week’s reaction, who knows what could happen when Random Access Memories gets its full UK release on 20 May.

The British public await!
