Coldplay have promised fans brand new music in 2017.

A new EP of songs will serve as the follow-up to their 2015 studio album A Head Full of Dreams, a Number 1 record that was phenomenally successful for the group. The colourful themes of their seventh studio album are set to continue if the name of the EP is anything to go by.

It is currently unknown how many tracks will feature, or when the EP will be released.

Kaleidoscope will be the 12th EP of Coldplay's career; others include Live in Madrid, Prospekt's March and iTunes Festival: London 2011. Aside from EPs, the band have released seven studio albums, all of which have hit Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. Click here to view Coldplay's complete UK singles and albums chart history.
