There’s still four weeks to go until Christmas, but the UK is already feeling festive as Arthur Christmas tops the Official Video Chart.

There’s still four weeks to go until Christmas, but the UK is already feeling festive as Arthur Christmas tops the Official Video Chart.

The home release of Arthur Christmas, has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart. Featuring an all-star cast which includes James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy, Jim Broadbent and Eva Longoria, Arthur Christmas is the first joint venture between Wallace And Gromit creators Aardman Animations and Sony Pictures Animation (The Smurfs, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs).

Festive flicks make up nearly a third of this week’s Official Video Chart with Po’s Winter Wonderland new in at Number 4, Nativity (Number 7), Ice Age – A Mammoth Christmas (8), The Polar Express (11), The Grinch (18), Santa Paws 2 (19), Elf (24), Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas (26), Tom & Jerry’s Christmas (31), Home Alone (34), Scooby-Doo – Winter Wonderdog (37) and Father Christmas (40).

New Entries

In addition to Arthur Christmas (Number 1) and Po’s Winter Wonderland (Number 4), there are seven other new entries on this week’s Official Video Chart.

Universal Pictures’ adaptation of Dr Seuss’ The Lorax debuts at Number 5, Coldplay’s new live DVD/Blu-ray, Live 2012, enters at Number 6, while Peter Kay’s Live And Back On Nights is new in at Number 13.

Westlife’s live swansong, The Farewell Tour - Live At Croke Park, debuts at Number 16, and the 10th series of sci-fi comedy, Red Dwarf X, is new in at Number 23.

This week’s new entries are completed by Frankie Boyle Live - The Last Days Sodom (28) and Celebrity Juice - Too Juicy For TV 2 (39).
