Cardi B's latest single I Like It is shaping up to be her biggest hit yet and possibly one of the songs of summer 2018 as it climbs to Number 1 on the latest Official Trending Chart.

The track, which features Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny and Colombian star J Balvin, tops the chart of new songs making the biggest impact in the UK this week.

I Like It has been scaling the Official Singles Chart for the past nine weeks and is on course to enter the Top 10 this Friday (June 15). If it does, it'll be Cardi's highest charting single in the UK as a headliner. Bruno Mars' Finesse, which she featured on, reached Number 5 earlier this year.

The track, which samples Pete Rodriguez's boogaloo classic I Like It Like That, is the rapper's fourth single from her debut album Invasion Of Privacy, following Top 40 hits Bodak Yellow, Bartier Cardi and Be Careful.

Meanwhile, Liam Payne and J Balvin's Familiar continues to prove popular as it edges closer to the singles chart Top 10, as does Selena Gomez's Back To You, taken from the new 13 Reasons Why soundtrack.

Brand new tracks impacting this week's Official Trending Chart include Jorja Smith's Blue Lights, taken from her debut album Lost & Found, and 4th Dimension by Kids See Ghosts aka Kanye West and Kid Cudi's new collaborative project. The duo's self-titled album is set for a Top 20 debut on this week's Official Albums Chart.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has already highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles These Days by Rudimental, Eminem's River ft. Ed Sheeran, and Lil Dicky's Freaky Friday.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
