It's time to pop the Champers for Cardi B, as the US rapper has just made history. (Sadly she can't drink any though, not with a baby on the way...)

First off, let's share a little history. In October 2017 Cardi became the first female US rapper to hit the top of the charts Stateside since Lauryn Hill 17 years ago, and now she's followed that accolade with a second number 1 single.

That second number 1 US single from debut album Invasion Of Privacy makes Cardi the first US female rapper ever to score two Number 1s.

I Like It is a Latino-flavoured energy ball of a hit, rapped in Spanish and English and calling on iconic Pete Rodriguez hit I Like It Like That for inspiration.

If that track doesn't ring a bell, you might know the more modern 1990s rehash by Tito Nieves and the Blackout All Stars, also called I Like It (Like That).

Inspired by Latin hip-hop, I Like It also features Puerto Rican trap singer Bad Bunny and Colombian raggaeton star J Balvin.

The accolade also makes Cardi the first female solo artist this decade to score two number ones from a debut album. Who else can boast this type of success? Only Lady Gaga, back in 2008 with The Fame.

In the UK, I Like It recently earned Cardi her first headline Top 10 single. Look back at Cardi B's full Official UK Chart history here.
