Camila Cabello has released the music video for her latest single Havana, which sees her play a telenovela star and major movie actor.

The six-and-a-half mini movie opens with Camila starring in a Spanish soap opera and then cutting her 'real' life at home, before she goes to watch a film.

The video was directed by David Meyers, whose recent work includes Kelly Clarkson's Love So Soft, Katy Perry's Swish Swish and Kendrick Lamar's Loyalty. Watch below:

Hey [Chorus: Camila Cabello & Pharrell Williams] Havana, ooh na-na (ayy) Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh-na-na (ayy, ayy) He took me back to East…

Havana has been scaling charts across the world over the last few weeks and is currently battling it out against Post Malone for the top spot on the Official UK Singles Chart, having spent the last fortnight at Number 2.

The singer recently opened up to Official Charts about the delay of her debut album, which is now expected to be released early next year, partly down to the success of Havana.

"It's made me want to write more songs and it’s showed me that I should trust my gut more," she said.

"Havana has been the defiant song but I always thought it was important to put out music that feels authentic to me. Havana doing well feels like the universe’s way of saying, 'keep doing that, don’t be scared to take risks.'"

This has got to be one of the best music videos I have ever seen. :D And it's smart as well: because it's a "mini-movie" and has a lot of buildup to the song and several gaps in the song, it makes people much more likely to hear the song for the first time of YouTube (especially as it's #1 on trending), and then go to other streaming services such as Spotify to listen to the song again. It's a similar strategy to 'One Dance', apart from that didn't have a music video at all. Or any way to listen to it on YouTube. 'Havana' does still have it's audio on YouTube.
