After its long-awaited premiere last weekend, Blame has shot straight to the top of the Official Singles Chart today. The feat sees Scottish DJ Calvin Harris score his fifth UK Number 1 having previously reached the summit with; I’m Not Alone (2009), Sweet Nothing (2012), Under Control (2013) and Summer (2014). Calvin also featured on two other chart toppers; Dizzee Rascal’s Dance Wiv Me (2008) and Rihanna’s We Found Love (2011).

Blame also becomes singer/songwriter John Newman’s third chart topper following 2012 collaboration with Rudimental, Feel The Love and 2013’s Love Me Again.

Just over 13% of Blame’s combined chart sales figure comes from audio streaming from services such as Spotify, Deezer and O2 Tracks.

Former chart topper, Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’s Prayer In C slides to the Number 2 position today, but claims the title of the most streamed track of the week, having racked up nearly 1.4m audio streams. Magic!’s Rude (Number 9) and Sam Smith’s Stay With Me (15) have also hit the million mark this week, being streamed 1.1 and 1 million times, respectively.

Sam Smith’s I’m Not The Only One is at 3 today, followed by Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, which spends a fourth consecutive week in the Top 10 at 4, and Iggy Azalea’s Black Widow FT Rita Ora at 5.

New Entries and High Climbers

Further to Calvin HarrisBlame FT John Newman, there are three more new entries in today’s Official Singles Chart Top 40.

Club banger Walking With Elephants (Number 6) by house producer Ten Walls climbs 178 places to enter the Top 40 today, after its full download release this week.

Elsewhere, Chris Brown scores his 12th UK Top 10 with New Flame FT Usher & Rick Ross (Number 10), while US rockers Fall Out Boy are new at 22 with Centuries, the lead single from their as yet untitled upcoming sixth studio album.

A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera’s Say Something (26) racks up its 12th non-consecutive week in the Top 40, re-entering the chart as it continues to climb following its recent appearances on The X Factor.

Finally, following a performance on the launch show of Strictly Come Dancing last weekend, Aussie band 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Amnesia climbs 31 places to Number 7.
