Billie Eilish is working on 16 songs for her second album: "I love them all"

Billie Eilish has confirmed she's working on 16 new songs for inclusion on her second album. 

The US dark-pop superstar has been keeping busy during quarantine it seems, and has been hard at work on the follow-up to her chart-topping debut When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? with brother and producer Finneas. 

Speaking with Vanity Fair for their annual Same Interview - where Billie answers the same questions one year on - she revealed that her second record really taking shape. 

"Right now I have 16," she said when asked how many new songs she was working on. "We’ve been working. And I love them all."

"There was a period of time, a month ago or something, we were just texting the label like, ‘Song done, another song done, another song done.’"

She also discussed her songwriting process, and admitted she was "so much better at it," the second time around.

"So, I’m so much better at it. I love it so much more. I actually really do enjoy it now and I do feel like I’m pretty good at it now.”

So far, Billie's second album has been preceded by the stand-alone singles Everything I Wanted and My Future, her Bond single No Time To Die and the as-of-yet-unnamed LP's official first single, Therefore I Am.

All four songs have entered the Top 10 of the Official Singles Chart, with Therefore I Am most recently debuting at Number 2, right behind Ariana Grande's mega-hit Positions.

No Time To Die became Billie's first UK Number 1 single last year too, netting the largest sales week for a Bond theme, ever.

Billie's debut album, released in April 2019, was the UK's fourth biggest album of last year and has kept up a strong performance in 2020, currently the third biggest record.
