Just a handful of sales and streams are separating the Top 2 on the latest Official Singles Chart Update, with Ariana Grande going toe-to-toe with Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa for this week's Number 1.

The UK's current chart-topper, Calvin and Dua's One Kiss, is currently leading the way, but Ariana Grande's new single No Tears Left To Cry is close behind at Number 2 by less than 1,000 combined sales.

No Tears Left To Cry serves as the lead single from Ariana's upcoming fourth studio album. It's also her first new music since last May's terrorist attack at her Manchester Arena concert. Check out Ariana's Official Top 10 biggest singles so far here.

New entries and high climbers

Three tracks are on course to enter this week's Top 10: Answersphone by Banx & Ranx, Ella Eyre and Yxng Bane jumps 11 places to Number 7, The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey rebounds four spots to 8, and Bebe Rexha's Meant To Be ft. Florida Georgia Line hops two to 9.

Currently hovering just outside the Top 10 at Number 11 is Anne-Marie's brand new track co-written by Ed Sheeran, 2002, and three tracks from J Cole's new album are Top 40-bound: title track KOD is at 16, Photograph at 28 and ATM at 29.

Further down, Kylie Mingoue's Stop Me From Falling re-enters at 34 following a new remix featuring Cuban reggaeton group Gente de Zona, and Liam Payne and J Balvin's new track Familiar starts at Number 35. Check out more cultural crossover collaborations in pop here.

Finally, three tracks by Avicii are set to re-enter the Top 40 following his unexpected death last week at the age of 28. More on that here.

I say Ariana wins

Was expecting to see Ariana win by a landslide, so here's hoping the fanbase streams the heck out of her new song (or even just let it play on repeat on Spotify) until Friday.

One Kiss has had a strong start to the good weather, but it'll decline as the week goes on I think.

I love Ariana Grande's new single, but I think it'll have to settle for #2 this Friday.
It's good to see 'Answerphone' & 'Meant To Be' expected to reach the Top 10, although I really hope '2002' also enters as that song grew on me fast!
Nice to see a few Avicii songs re-enter too! I bet he's have at least twice as many songs in the Top 100 if it weren't for the rule that limits the number of songs an artist can have on the chart.

I can see 'No Tears Left To Cry' entering at #3, to be honest. It's got really good streams, but not on the level of 'Nice for What' or 'One Kiss'. And it's lost the top spot on iTunes to 'One Kiss' as well. But it did climb on the most recent Spotify chart, so I could be wrong and it could enter at #2.
I'm really hoping that '2002' can enter the Top 10 as well. At this point it is the closest race for #1 I've ever had on my chart, as '2002', 'Sanctify', 'Pray', 'No Tears Left To Cry', '2 Souls on Fire' and 'The Nights' all battle for #1. It'd also be great to see 'Answerphone' reach the region and 'Meant To Be' finally climb that last little bit to enter as well.
I think that Avicii would easily have at least 5 entries in the Top 40 if he could, if not more, especially in this midweek. His songs will drop by Friday, though, sadly.

I'm certain that No Tears Left To Cry will be #1 by Friday, there's not many sales between it and One Kiss right now, and the whole reason One Kiss did so well last week is because of the UK's good weather and the fact that it's a summery track. We've gone back to rain and clouds now so I'm expecting it to decline as the week goes on, and No Tears Left To Cry to only increase as the song gains more popularity. If it doesn't go to #1 this week though, it surely will the next.

'No Tears Left To Cry' could potentially go to #1, but I don't see it happening this week. It's still getting 200,000-300,000 less streams per day on Spotify, and it's only selling around 80% of 'One Kiss' on iTunes. It would have to overtake 'One Kiss' on streams in the next couple of days for it to stand a chance. Next week, though, could be very different. As I said, it is climbing on streams, and even if it isn't anywhere near the level of 'One Kiss' yet, it definitely could be by the end of the week.
