Caribou is essentially Canadian composer, musician, and recording artist Dan Snaith born March 29, 1978 in Dundas, Ontario. Caribou originally started out as Manitoba, until a lawsuit from a performer of the same name suggested they change it, and became Caribou for their third album, 2005’s The Milk of Human Kindness. Caribou won acclaim and sales with the albums Swim and Our Love, which became a UK Official Album Chart Top Ten success in 2016. Caribou, or rather Snaith, also concurrently releases music under the name Daphni. Snaith also received a doctorate in mathematics from Imperial College London, for work on Overconvergent Siegel Modular Symbols.
