
After taking over as frontman from John Foxx in 1980, Midge Ure steered Ultravox to the biggest hits of their career, including the smash hit Vienna (named by BBC Radio 2 as the nation's favourite Number 2 single in 2012). Vienna was Ultravox's highest charting single, and was famously kept off the top spot for three weeks straight by Joe Dolce's Shaddup You Face in February 1981.
