Coldplay heading for a seventh Number 1 album after spectacular Super Bowl halftime show
It was their only studio album not to top the Official Albums Chart, but it looks like Coldplay's luck is about to change, as A Head Full Of Dreams leads the way in the race to Number 1.
Thwarted by Adele's mega-selling 25 on its original release in December 2015, A Head Full Of Dreams zooms back up the chart, almost 8,000 combined sales ahead of its nearest rival, to take the top spot at this midway stage.

If it holds on, A Head Full Of Dreams will give Coldplay their seventh UK album, topping off an amazing week for the band, which saw them give a spectacular performance at the 50th Super Bowl halftime show, along with Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.

David Bowie's hits retrospective Best Of Bowie slips a place to Number 2, while Elton John is on track for a 31st Top 10 album – Wonderful Crazy Night is new at 3.
Two non-movers round off the Top 5, with Adele's 25 (4) and Justin Bieber's Purpose (5) both holding steady.
New entries and high climbers
Foxes is in with a chance of a second UK Top 10 album – All I Need, the follow-up to her 2014 debut Glorious, starts at 9.
The Cult are on track for a ninth Top 40 this week, with Hidden City new at 13, and Swedish superstar DJ Eric Prydz is heading for a new Official Albums Chart personal best – Opus goes in at Number 16.
Sunderland rockers Field Music are also on track for a new PB, with Commontime new at 19, and rapper Future looks set to hit a new chart peak too – Evol starts at 27. He reached Number 6 with his Drake collaboration What A Time To Be Alive in 2015, but alone he's yet to reach the Top 40.
American singer-songwriter Chris Isaak aims for a fifth Top 40 album with First Comes The Night (33), while Rod Stewart's Another Country (36) and Michael Jackson's Number Ones (39) both return to the Top 40.

I really hope Coldplay can go to No.1 this week, I was really hoping they would go to No.1 when the album was first released but Adele beat her, now I will have to wait and see if David Bowie will beat them. Fingers crossed they reach the top spot for one week at least.

I don't remember A Head Full Of Dreams release the same week with 25 in UK? I thought it was released first before 25.

It was released two weeks after 25. 25 came out 20th November and A Head Full Of Dreams came out 4th or 5th December, 25 sold 100K more than Coldplay :-(

It stayed there until January, David Bowie knocked her off the top spot with Blackstar. I hope it does too but the album went to No.1 mainly because it was selling on iTunes for £6.99, it was brought back up to £9.99 so it might not make it to No.1 this week :-(

How is the Superbowl affecting UK Chart sales? Is it shown in the UK at all?

I don't know if it's shown here but when Beyonce and Katy performed a lot of there songs and albums shot up the charts. A Head Full Of Dreams has been No.1 on the iTunes chart since Thursday, it was reduced to £6.99. It was still in the top 10 even when it was £9.99 though.
