Scouting For Girls' new single, Summertime In The City, is out as of today (August 27). To celebrate, we caught up with Roy, Greg and Peter for a chat about the single and their upcoming album, The Light Between Us.
The London-based three-piece have been entertaining our ears since 2007 when they released their self-titled debut album. It peaked at Number 1 in the Official Albums Chart, and stayed in the Top 75 for a whopping 84 weeks! With nine Top 40 singles under their belt - including the Number 1 smash This Ain't A Love Song - things are looking good for the band's new releases.
Summertime In The City is an upbeat pop ditty that celebrates the rare joy of a cloudless sky during the British summertime.
"It's literally about boys looking at girls on a hot sunny day," frontman Roy observes with a cheeky smile.
But it hasn't been an entirely smooth ride for Scouting For Girls of late; album number three, The Light Between Us, has taken a lot of hard work and dedication...
"We used ten different studios, five different producers - we probably went through thirty or forty different songs," says Roy. "But looking at it now, it's without doubt the best record we've done, the strongest record... There were times when I honestly thought this album would never come out!"
