Belgian-Australian singer Gotye topped the Official Singles Chart this past Sunday (February 12) with Somebody That I Used To Know FT Kimbra. He also became the seventh recipient of an Official Singles Chart Number 1 Award - a new award created by the Official Charts Company to mark the 60th anniversary of the Official Singles Chart.

We caught up with Gotye yesterday at the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios where he was preparing for his live session for Jo Whiley’s BBC Radio 2 show, and asked Jo to do the honours and present him with his Official Singles Chart Number 1 Award. She also asked the singer about his new album, Making Mirrors, which was released on Monday, and looks likely to go Top 5 in the Official Albums Chart this weekend.

Check out the interview below:

To find out where Making Mirrors charts, and to see if Gotye can hold onto the Number 1 spot on the Official Singles Chart, tune in to the Official Chart Show with Reggie Yates on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday between 4 and 7PM.
