Happy to see that 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' should move up into the Top 5 & that 'Chained To The Rhythm' is predicted to debut at #6! :)

I Am A Stegosaurus

Dislike the former, so boring.

avatar

Piran

What do you think of the latter though?

avatar

I Am A Stegosaurus

Not heard it yet

avatar

Piran

Fair enough. Did you watch the Grammys last night then? :)

avatar

I Am A Stegosaurus

0

No, if Beyonce's gonna get her @$$ on them then I don't care.

avatar

Piran

Well Adele got five big awards; three in the general categories & two in the pop ones. :)

avatar

I Am A Stegosaurus

Don't really like her, I mean, she's okay but I'm tired of her winning everything and 25 being the biggest thing on he planet

avatar

Piran

1

Do you think you'll watch the BRITs next Wednesday then?

avatar

I Am A Stegosaurus

0

Nah

avatar

I Am A Stegosaurus

Not really interested in award shows generally tbf

avatar

Piran

Oh I'll say this about the Grammys; I thought James Corden did a great job at hosting them.
Another thing I'll add to my thoughts about this chart update: even though I really like Ed Sheeran, I was hoping Rag'n'Bone Man could get at least one week at #1, because now he'll have been blocked at #2 twice.

avatar

Piran

Fair enough. Are you going to be on the Official Charts article this Friday then?

avatar

I Am A Stegosaurus

1

Yeah, I'm not normally on on Fridays coz I like watching the charts on TV and I don't want them to be spoiled, hence the reason why I'm on on Saturdays, but I think this week I won't bother watching them.

avatar

I Am A Stegosaurus

0

Because in my area the charts don't update on TV until Saturday morning

avatar

Piran

1

Yeah. Saturday morning is the earliest that I can get the full Top 40 on TV (usually on MTV), but I always listen to Greg James' BBC Radio 1 show! :)

I just saw the nominees for the Awards. It seems a bit messy. :|10 songs for British single and artist video? Seems a bit excessive. Also, Bon Iver an international male solo artist? Drake & Future an international group? Having Leonard Cohen nominated for international male solo artist seems a bit out of place, unlike having Bowie nominated for British male solo artist. Probably most surprising to me is that Adele's only nominated for her SML (TYNL) video.

I read you could see it via iTV. Do you know if they are going to stream it and whether that requires a subscription? ;)

avatar

Piran

1

Yeah, there are usually a lot of nominations for one category. I'm pleased that Leonard Cohen & David Bowie are being remembered well though. Hopefully something for George Michael & Prince too! :)
I think you maybe able to get a worldwide live stream for free, but only the BRITs website. I'll let you know if I find something different though.

I'll see if I can get a look, 2mor. ;) So, Man City managed to win. Maybe they can put some pressure on Chelsea if they lose some points in their remaining games. Otherwise, the battle for 2-6 in the EPL should be quite exciting for the next couple of months. ;)

avatar

Piran

1

The last time I checked, Chelsea had quite a strong lead; nine points!
Liverpool's next game will be against Leicester, who shocked everyone by winning the EPL in last year's season. :)

avatar

Techfan

1

I checked the table yesterday and if I remember correctly they are 1 point from being among the teams who would be relegated! Do you know what's the tiebreaker if they were to tie in points with another team? Chelsea's lead is down to 8 points, which is still relatively large. :O

avatar

Piran

1

Well I think they'd look at how many goals across the entire season were scored between each team. They look at the 'goal difference' (add one for one goal scored for them & subtract one for one goal scored against them). The team with the lower goal difference would be relegated if there were to be a tiebreak.

avatar

Techfan

1

Oh, Man! Barca lost 4-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions' League. , that's almost an impossible score to overcome, but they would one of the few teams in the world that could do so. :(

avatar

Piran

1

It's a shame to hear that Barcelona took quite a big loss! :/
Although, they are 2nd in La Liga & only one point behind Real Madrid.

avatar

Techfan

1

Unfortunately there, Real Madrid have two games pending. :( So what time do the Brits start again?

avatar

Piran

1

The BRITs start next Wednesday at 6pm UK time.
Some of the performers that have already been announced include: Little Mix, Katy Perry, Emeli Sande, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Skepta & The 1975.

avatar

Techfan

1

Oh, next week! I guess I don't know Skepta ... :O

avatar

Piran

1

That's right! :)
Skepta is only really big in the UK, so I didn't expect you to know him. Are you going to be on the Official Charts article this Friday then?

avatar

Techfan

1

That figures! I have only really started to follow the Singles chart for a few months ... So I might make a spreadsheet for the Official Charts for this year and work my way back. I do need to do the same for the Hot 100.

I'll definitely shown be on for Friday. ;)

avatar

Piran

1

I was actually telling Sunshine Gal about how during August & September 2015, there would be a new #1 every week, by either debuting there or by taking a massive climb! Check the archives if you have time & you'll see what I mean. ;)
So how do you feel about this week's UK chart predictions then?

avatar

Techfan

1

The UK chart was probably more exciting during the summer. It was easy to tell that One Dance would end up being #1 Summer Song for the Hot 100. :|

avatar

Piran

1

Regarding 'One Dance', that staying at #1 for 15 consecutive weeks over here last year was so boring, especially considering it blocked seven songs at #2! :/

avatar

Techfan

1

Probably the same thing that happened with Views blocking all those #2 debuts in the BB 200! :|

avatar

Piran

1

Similarly, 'One Dance' was only at #1 for so long because of streaming. It only got 3 weeks at #1 on the sales chart & even radio presenters started to turn against it.

avatar

Techfan

1

Too bad radio doesn't count toward the OC Singles chart in the UK, then! :P

avatar

Piran

To be honest, I'm glad it doesn't; you can decide what you buy or stream, but not what is played on the radio.
