I find the Rihanna situation weird, yes not a full week, yes its not available on all formats but No7 . Why on earth sell 1M copies to Samsung and declare it a Platinum record, Neilson, and official charts records declare that they rightly wont count. I mean any artist could get a major player to give away sales or streams the real weight of popularity is on pure sales. also Work is an odd first single, no hook to speak of, and just same old same old.

I like the album, but it's alleged platinum status is v. dubious.

Of all the chart statistics being bandied about this week, I'd like to know for definite if the Best of Bowie album has officially taken the longest time to get to number 1. I know it peaked at 11 when first released in 2002 and at my reckoning its taken 690 weeks to finally top the charts. Anyone know for certain its the longest time between release and topping the charts?

I think you could be right, but not sure. Tubular Bells and Rumours both took a long time to get there but not AS long. Of course if Dark Side of the moon or Bat Out Of ever make number 1 they will beat this.

Hey! I thought Sia's album was meant to go number 1!

No album is meant to go to No 1. Sia's was ahead mid week but obviously slipped back during the second half of the week.

Yeah, it's just that mid week it looked like the probability of Sia going number was high, guess not though.
