I'm trying to update the lists of long runners, but the web site thinks I have already made the comment! Can you please look into it OCC? Thanks

Hi David,
Why do you only have 450 weeks for Queen's Greatest Hits?
Actually, I have replicated your value of 450 by limiting the chart to a Top 75. Is that how you are defining Weeks on Chart? If I use that definition then my list is:

Title Artist Weeks in Top 75
GOLD - GREATEST HITS ABBA 477
BAT OUT OF MEAT LOAF 454
GREATEST HITS QUEEN 450
RUMOURS FLEETWOOD MAC 420
LEGEND BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS 403
THE SOUND OF MUSIC FILM SOUNDTRACK 373
THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON PINK FLOYD 366
SOUTH PACIFIC ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK 317
BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER SIMON AND GARFUNKEL 311
GREATEST HITS SIMON AND GARFUNKEL 299
TUBULAR BELLS MIKE OLDFIELD 274
WAR OF THE WORLDS JEFF WAYNE 247
THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION MADONNA 242
BROTHERS IN ARMS DIRE STRAITS 227
THRILLER MICHAEL JACKSON 204
NEVERMIND NIRVANA 204
THE KING AND I ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK 202

So, I am the same for many of the albums but I think that I must have 'cleansed' some weeks from some of the albums. (And I am obviously excluding the 25th anniversary edition of Thriller).

The most significant differences are for:
Legend (I have 403 versus your 440/470 - why the different values?)
Sgt Pepper (I only have 191 versus your 203). I have excluded the 1987 version. Have you included it?

Hi Gareth. Finally back. Might take a few days before I get a chance to look., but I will look. Delighted that after 5 years someone is looking at this. Well worth doing (even if you are bored).

Please feel free to keep the points coming.

I guess that I was correct with your definition of Weeks on Chart then? Top 75 only. How do you keep track? Do you have your own database?

Major error with Passion Pit here - the chart run! It's a new entry at 81, not a former #1 with 49 weeks on chart. (Erasure's Wild!)

This is happening a lot. Clearly their system is combining chart histories of totally unconnected albums - an odd glitch!

Hi David, you missed one :) Yes, this should be a NE, not a RE.
It really is a long slog cleansing all the data from this website. It will be worth it in the end, but, even for someone who enjoys data cleansing, it is BORING ME STUPID!
