Zara Larsson has bagged the first Number 1 on the first ever Official Trending Chart with Lush Life.

Yesterday (Feb 15) we announced the launch of the new chart, which highlights how the hottest new tracks are making an impact in the UK.

The Swedish star's latest single Lush Life leads the way at the top of the list of songs climbing up this week's Official Singles Chart. Charting last week at Number 16 and ascending six places since puts Zara on course to break the Official Chart Top 10 for the first time as a headliner this Friday.

"I’m so excited to be Number 1 in the first EVER Official Trending Chart in the UK," Zara told OfficialCharts.com. "I love the UK - it's amazing to be getting so much love."

Lush Life has been steadily scaling the Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the last six weeks, initially entering at Number 88 and hitting the Top 40 four weeks ago. Click on the image below to see its full Official Chart run:

Zara previously scored a Top 10 with her MNEK collaboration Never Forget You; a song which enjoyed a similarly steady ascent up the Official Singles Chart last year, taking nine weeks to reach its eventual peak at Number 5.

Elsewhere on this week's first ever Official Trending Chart, Jason Derulo is at 2 with his track Get Ugly, which is currently resting just outside the Official Singles Chart Top 10 at 12, and Ellie Goulding is close behind - her latest track Army has been climbing over recent weeks and looks set for a new chart peak this week.

Other notable entries include Twenty One Pilots' Stressed Out, which is up 12 places today from its position on last week's Official Singles Chart to Number 22.  Plus Sia's Cheap Thrills makes an appearance after a new version of the song featuring Sean Paul was released last week, causing it to leap a massive 82 places on the latest sales flash.

Two tracks that are edging closer to the Top 40 make strong entries on the first Trending Chart: Birdy's Keeping Your Head Up places (up 13 spots to 51 on the Official Singles Chart today), and Mike Posner's I Took A Pill In Ibiza (up 17 places to 52).

Viola Beach were at number 39 in yesterday's update. This chart says that they are at number 41 today. As they spent the whole of yesterday in the iTunes top three, that doesn't make sense (unless I have misunderstood something).

I believe that the Update chart on Monday does not include streaming. With the Viola Beach track likely to be selling much more than it streams, and everyone else having four days of streaming added, that could be the reason.
