Three months before the Roy Orbison hologram tour kicks off in the UK, the production company behind the event has shared a preview of what fans can expect.

Roy Orbison: In Dreams The Hologram UK tour sees the Estate-approved hologram of Roy take to the stage to perform his biggest hits including In Dreams and Oh, Pretty Woman, backed by the (live) Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Look back at his complete UK chart history here.

Production company BASE have released a clip of Roy's hologram performing 1992 hit I Drove All Night to offer a flavour of what to expect from the show.

The tour, which is directed by Tony winner Eric Schaeffer (Broadway’s Million Dollar Quartet), follows the success of last year's album A Love So Beautiful: Roy Orbison with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The collection peaked at Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart and was the UK's eleventh biggest record of 2017 with combined sales of 254,000.

Alex Orbison, Roy's son and President of Roy Orbison Music, said of the project: "My Dad was one of the first people to combine rock and roll with orchestral sound so to see the full meal deal of having the big orchestra with my Dad is really a dream set up."

An extra London date has been added to the tour, which takes in ten cities across the UK, kicking off in Cardiff on April 8. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
