The Wealdstone Raider – real name Gordon Hill –has now overtaken pop juggernauts One Direction, Take That and Taylor Swift, to gatecrash the Top 5 today ahead of the 2014 Official Christmas Number 1 being crowned on Sunday.

Based on sales and streams up to midnight last night, Got No Fans has now reached Number 5, after appearing in the Top 40 for this first time just two days ago.

The Wealdstone Raider shot to fame on YouTube after mocking his football rivals’ lack of fans and threatening to “give some” to an opposition fan. Laying down his Christmas Number 1 challenge to Simon Cowell, the plucky underdog told the Daily Mirror, “Simon Cowell, I’m after you. I want it. You’ve got no fans. I’m coming for Christmas Number 1. Simon Cowell do you want some? I’ll give it to you!”

X Factor winner Ben Haenow continues to top the chart with Something I Need, trailed by Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk FT Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud and Olly Murs’ Up FT Demi Lovato. Speaking exclusively to OfficialCharts.com about The Wealdstone Raider, a humble Haenow commented “I haven’t heard the song yet but I’ve heard of the Wealdstone Raider and seen the clip! If I lost out to him or Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars… even to be in the running against both of those is an incredible place to be. I’m really grateful.”
