What a week it’s been for The Wealdstone Raider! From football supporter, to YouTube sensation, and now an officially-certified pop star to boot. The Wealdstone Raider became a surprise last minute Christmas Number 1 contender on Wednesday when his track Got No Fans came from outside of the Top 200 to invade the midweek Top 40 at Number 37. Since then, the song has steamrollered its way up the Official Chart, climbing 24 places to Number 13 by Thursday and entering the Top 5 by Friday’s sales flash.

The viral sensation – real name Gordon Hill - shot to fame on YouTube after a video of him mocking his football rivals’ lack of fans and threatening to “give some” to an opposition fan amassed nearly 6 million views.

The last minute campaign to take on the mighty Simon Cowell has well and truly rocked the chart race this week, with Got No Fans climbing an astonishing 32 places since Wednesday’s Official Chart Update, and today finishing the week in a very respectable fifth place at Number 5 on the Official Singles Chart.

Congratulations Gordon!

Proceeds from Got No Fans go to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Wealdstone Raiders Youth FC and Autism Concern.
