The Hobbit becomes fastest selling video of 2015 so far

Battle Of The Five Armies overtakes Paddington to claim biggest first week sales of 2015 so far.

The Hobbit – Battle Of The Five Armies has stormed straight to Number 1 on this week’s Official Video Chart with mammoth sales.

The third instalment of the Warner Home Video fantasy series shifted an impressive 477,000 copies in its first seven days on sale, becoming the fastest-selling video title of 2015 so far, overtaking Paddington’s previous record of 464,000.

The Hobbit – Trilogy boxset is also a new entry at Number 2 this week, followed by Universal Pictures’ Dumb And Dumber To (3) and Disney’s Tinker Bell – Legend Of The Neverbeast (4).

Other new entries in this week’s Official Video Chart Top 40 include Entertainment One’s Mankind’s Last Stand (11) and 2Entertain Stella – Series 4 & Christmas Special (22).
