The Bodyguard to re-enter Official Video Chart following Whitney Houst

Following the untimely death of Whitney Houston this past weekend, not only have sales of her singles and albums rocketed, her 1992 film The Bodyguard also looks set to make a re-entry on the Official Video Chart.

Following the untimely death of Whitney Houston this past weekend, not only have sales of her singles and albums rocketed, her 1992 film The Bodyguard also looks set to make a re-entry on the Official Video Chart.

According to today’s Official Charts Company sales data, The Bodyguard is currently at Number 10 in the Official Video Chart with sales up a staggering 550% so far this week.

The Bodyguard starred Whitney Houston as singer Rachel Marron and Kevin Costner as Frank Farmer, her bodyguard. The film’s soundtrack is 60th biggest selling album in Official Charts history and has sold over 2.255 million copies in the UK alone.

Several of Whitney Houston’s songs which feature on The Bodyguard Original Soundtrack are set to re-enter the Official Singles Chart Top 100 this weekend. According to today’s sales data, the film’s lead single I Will Always Love you is at Number 11, while Run To You is at 62, I Have Nothing is at 77, Queen Of The Night is at 95, and I’m Every Woman is at 96.
