Solo: A Star Wars Story is flying to Number 1 on the UK's Official Video Chart.

After two days on sale, the spin-off starring Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke and Donald Glover has shifted 139,000 copies, that's more than the rest of the Top 40 combined on today's Official Chart Update.

Solo is all set to be the eighth Star Wars title to hit the top spot on the Official Video Chart this millennium. All five main series movies released this century (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi) claimed the Number 1 position, as did the Trilogy box set of the original 20th century movies, and 2017 side story Rogue One.

The Official Video Chart is UK's leading countdown of physical home entertainment (DVD and Blu-ray) sales, with the full chart being revealed every Sunday at 7pm on OfficialCharts.com.

Elsewhere in the Top 5, last week's Number 1 Deadpool 2 retreats to runner-up slot, Avengers: Infinity War occupies Number 3 at the midweek stage, The Complete Eighth Season of The Walking Dead powers its way to Number 4, and The Greatest Showman is set for a 20th consecutive week in the Top 5 (5).

New entries and high climbers

In a busy week for the Top 10, The Complete Fourth Season of The Flash is jolting to a Number 6 debut, while the 11th and penultimate series of The Big Bang Theory is new at Number 7. John Travolta's Gotti is set for a Number 8 debut, one slot ahead of Hocus Pocus, which rises 135 places to 9 after a 25th anniversary Blu-ray edition was released.

Season 3 of DC's Legends of Tomorrow opens at 11, classic horror Halloween re-enters the chart at 16 following its release on the 4K format, while Avengers Assemble and Age of Ultron also got the 4K treatment this week; they appear at 18 and 20 on today's Chart Update. Unforgotten: Series 3 is sandwiched in the middle at 19.

The Complete Seventh Season of Homeland sits at 24, Jon Hamm's The Negotiator impacts at 27, animated movie The Breadwinner is right behind at Number 28, and the fifth season of Hawaii Five-0 makes a mark at 29.

Mary Poppins is set for a 670th week on chart after the trailer for its sequel was released (30), and finally, Thomas & Friends: Here Comes The Steam is on track for a Number 31 debut.
