Sigma heading for second Number 1 with Changing FT Paloma Faith

British drum and bass duo, Sigma, are set to top the Official Singles Chart for the second time this year with Changing FT Paloma Faith, according to today’s Official Chart Update.

Sigma - aka Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie – are on course to be the first group this year to nab two consecutive Number 1s. New single, Changing, is the follow up to Nobody To Love (their reworking of Kanye West’s Bound 2) which topped the chart back in April.

If its sales momentum continues into the weekend, Changing will also be the first Number 1 for pop starlet Paloma Faith, who features on the track. Paloma’s current album A Perfect Contradiction rides high as one of the Top 5 biggest sellers of the first half of 2014, the album peaked at Number 2 upon its release in March. Paloma has also scored six Official Singles Chart Top 40 hits, including Picking Up The Pieces (2012) and Only Love Can Hurt Like This (2014) both of which peaked at Number 7, but a new personal best could be on the cards for Paloma this Sunday.

Changing is currently nearly 38,000 copies ahead of Professor Green’s Lullaby FT Tori Kelly, new at Number 2 today.

Lullaby is the lead single from Professor Green’s new album Growing Up In Public and is set to be the rapper’s fourth Top 5 single, and the first for US singer/songwriter Tori Kelly.

Down one place to Number 3 today is Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’s Prayer In C, followed by current chart topper Calvin Harris with Blame FT John Newman (Number 4).

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is on track to spend her fifth week in the Top 10 with Shake It Off (5), the lead track from upcoming album 1989.

New Entries

Other than Sigma’s Changing FT Paloma Faith (1) and Professor Green’s Lullaby FT Tori Kelly (2), there are two new entries in today’s Official Singles Chart Update Top 40.

Irish musician Hozier enters at Number 35 with Take Me To Church, the lead single from the singer’s eponymous debut album.

American rapper Kid Ink is new at 38 with Body Language FT Usher and Tinashe, the first single from his, as yet untitled, third studio LP.
