Sia's The Greatest surges into the Top 5 on the Australian singles chart

Plus there are big climbers from Ariana Grande, Zara Larsson and DNCE on this week's ARIA chart.

Sia has claimed her sixth Top 5 single in Australia this week with new track The Greatest.

The Kendrick Lamar-assisted track has shot up twenty-three places from 25 to this week's Number 2 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Sia has previously reached the Top 5 with Chandelier (2), Elastic Heart (5), Titanium (5, with David Guetta), Wild Ones (1, with Flo Rida) and Golden (4, with Travie McCoy). The Greatest has so far peaked at Number 5 in the UK.

Ariana Grande advances up the Top 10 to Number 5 with her Nicki Minaj collaboration Side To Side, her third Top 5 entry as a lead artist following Problem (2) and Break Free (3). Still at Number 1 are The Chainsmokers and Halsey with Closer which is now in its sixth week on top.

Further down the Top 50, Lady Gaga debuts at Number 14 with Perfect Illusion, Zara Larsson's Ain't My Fault scales the chart by eight places to Number 24, and Toothbrush by DNCE hits a new peak of 34.

Over on the ARIA Albums Chart, history has been made by Australian alt-rock band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Their album Skeleton Tree is the fifteenth Number 1 of their year by an Australian act, beating the record set in 2013 of 14 homegrown Number 1 albums. 

Aside from Nick Cave's second Number 1 album in their home country, three other new entries hit the Top 5. Canberra trio Safia reach Number 2 with their debut offering Internal, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt & Emmylou Harris' My Dear Companion: Selections From The Trio Collection hits Number 3 and fellow country album They Don't Know from Jason Aldean is this week's Number 5.
