Shrek’s Thrilling Tales climbs to the top of the Official Video Chart this week, just in time for Halloween!

The usual Shrek crowd is out in force as Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz once again lend their voices to the beloved children's characters. This edition of the cult series sees the Shrek gang team up with the Monsters Vs. Aliens franchise for some spooktacular ghost stories.

The highest new entry on the chart is Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (Number 2). From visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) comes this visceral, satisfying thriller based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s best selling novel.

Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic, Prometheus, is down one place to Number 3, while Tim Burrton’s Dark Shadows is at Number 4. The second season of BBC comedy Mrs. Brown’s Boys retains the Number 5 position for the second week running.

New Entries

In addition to Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (Number 2) there are five other new entries on this week’s Official Video Chart.

What To Expect When You’re Expecting enters the chart at Number 7. Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez star in this heartfelt comedy which follows a multitude of characters dealing, or attempting to deal with, the issues and emotions of impending parenthood. Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver and Robert De Niro’s Red Lights debuts at Number 8, while the Chernobyl Diaries, the terrifying new thriller from the creator of Paranormal Activity, is new in at Number 11.

This week’s new entries are completed by House - Season 8, the final series of Hugh Laurie’s US medical drama, at Number 13, and satirical horror flick Cockneys vs. Zombies at Number 18.
