Shortlist for Pop Gem #86: 2014's Unsung Heroes

Which 2014 classics and near-misses did we pick for our shortlist?

Every week we you to nominate your Pop Gems – overlooked classics or massive hits of yesteryear that deserve a spot in our Hall Of Fame.

But this week, we were keeping things right up-to-date. As 2014 draws to a close, we were after your nominations for the year's UNSUNG HEROES – the songs that should've been a Number 1, but… weren't. What 2014 tunes did you reckon should've been a bigger hit than it was?

Nominations came flooding in for songs that made the Official Singles Chart but could've been bigger, along with quite a few brilliant tracks that missed the Top 40 altogether, but had huge hit potential.

As it's 2014, we got it down to 14 big ones, with five of them actually making the Top 40 – 3 even grabbing a Top 10 placing – and the rest proper under-the-radar tracks that charted lower.
