It looks like Sam Smith's new album will be with us all soon.

The singer-songwriter has shared a series of photos from a recording studio, presumably laying down vocals for his second studio album.

James Barber, who took the pictures, said on Instagram: "For the past month I have had the pleasure of documenting @samsmithworld record his second album. Here are some of our favourites."

The picture above shows him recording with Jimmy Napes, who worked on Sam's 2014 debut In The Lonely Hour. More recently, he's collaborated with Disclosure, Clean Bandit and Mary J Blige.

Sam was recently pictured in a recording studio with Timbaland, with the R&B producer saying: "It was a pleasure working with this man".

Last month marked the three-year anniversary of In The Lonely Hour, which spawned a string of hit singles including Number 1s Money On My Mind, Stay With Me and Lay Me Down.

The record has sold over one million copies in the UK and is one of the fastest selling albums of the decade so far, logging 101,000 sales in its opening week alone.
