Saint Jhn climbs to Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart with Roses following an incredibly close race for the top spot.

After a steady 11-week climb to the top, the single knocks The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights to Number 2 after five total weeks at the summit. Just 210 chart sales separated the two.

The Guyanese-American rapper and producer first released Roses back in 2016. In 2019 teenage Kazakh producer Imanbek released a dance remix of the song, which steadily gained momentum around the world.

Meanwhile, Joel Corry rings in a new personal best as Lonely climbs two places to Number 5, becoming his highest charting hit; his last single Sorry reached Number 6 in September last year.

Becky Hill continues to reach new peaks with Better Off Without You ft. Shift K3y, up two places to 14; Mabel lands a seventh Top 20 single with Boyfriend, up eight spots to 17; and Blueberry Faygo by 18-year-old US rapper Lil Mosey enters the Top 20 at 19, flying up 22 places.

More big climbs come from New Zealand native Benee with Supalonely ft. Gus Dapperton, up 17 places to 22; Death Bed by Powfu ft. Beabadoobee lifts 11 spots to 23; City Of Angels by Californian rapper 24KGoldn rises seven to a new peak of 25; and Khalid & Disclosure’s Know Your Worth jumps nine spots to 29.

Niall Horan lands his fifth Top 40 hit with No Judgement following the release of his second album Heartbreak Weather, with the single rocketing 46 places to Number 32. See Niall's full solo Official Chart History.

Other songs landing in the Top 40 for the first time include Doja Cat’s Boss Bitch (34), Tory Lanez' The Take ft. Chris Brown (35), Tequila by Jax Jones, Martin Solveig and Raye (38) and Pop Smoke’s Dior (40).

The week’s highest new entry is Papi Chulo (37), a collaboration between UK rappers Octavian and Skepta, becoming Octavian’s first Top 40 single.

Interesting to see how Someone You Loved has once again hit ACR and has dropped from 10 - 28 yet on ACR Dance Monkey is at 16. Wonder how high Dance Monkey would be if it wasn’t for ACR

Very happy to get a new number 1 this week but mainly overjoyed with Becky Hill and Joel Corry getting a new peak..I forgot that MABEL has already 7 top 20 under her belt..i might have been sleeping last year as i thought she only had 2!! Still well deserved..She is as talented as her mum Neneh Cherry...

Oh wow... didn't expect 'Roses' to take #1 yet, but I'm still really happy about that! Funny to think I knew about this song in October when it was a hit in Europe, now it's finally top of the UK charts almost six months later.

I love the big gains for: 'Boyfriend'. 'Blueberry Faygo', 'Death Bed', 'City Of Angels' & 'Know Your Worth' too!

Stay safe & healthy everyone! :)

Someone else who knew of roses before it got big! But it’s so good to see it at number 1!! Some reason I feel like Blinding Lights isn’t done yet however...

All I want now is Becky hill can reach the top 10!
And as much as I love lonely by Joel. I do wish that it didn’t peak higher than sorry as I feel that’s a much more remembering song

Hey Riley! :)

When did you first hear 'Roses' then? I always think it's really cool when you hear a hit before it gets big anywhere, which is exactly what happened with me for 'Body' too!

I'm also really hoping 'Better Off Without You' will reach the Top 10 eventually! For as much as I like 'Sorry', its score did drop a bit for me when it got massive radio support, while 'Lonely' has somehow done the opposite! I see why the latter is a bigger hit for Joel Corry than the former.

'Blinding Lights' could go back to #1 next week thanks to The Weeknd's new album being released today!

Hope you're safe & healthy mate.

I found out about it from Spotify back at Halloweenish. Body I found out about aswell! And I hope it can aswell!

And yea tbf I knew about sorry months before it gained radio play.

And I definitely think The Weeknd could return for a third spell at number 1!

Also interesting to see ur opinions to my comment regarding someone you loved and dance monkey.
And I’m alright thanks mate, hope you’ve been well aswell

It's awesome that we both discovered 'Roses' months before most of the country did! :D

Yeah, 'Blinding Lights' isn't on ACR yet & it's currently getting over 600k daily streams on Spotify over the weekend, so that'll definitely be #1 on Friday.
