Robbie Williams unveils the video for his Official Christmas Number 1 chart bid, Dream A Little Dream Of Me.

Robbie Williams has posted the video for his forthcoming single, Dream A Little Dream Of Me, online.

The track, which was written way back in the 1930s, first achieved chart success in 1968 after it was covered by Mama Cass and The Mamas & The Papas. A version of Dream A Little Dream Of Me FT Lily Allen appears on Robbie’s Number 1 album, Swings Both Ways. However, for the single release, Robbie has opted to go solo.

The video, which you can watch below, pays homage to the US Christmas television specials of the 1950s and 1960s and sees Robbie re-united with his on and off long-time collaborator, Guy Chambers, as well as a troupe of young ladies calling themselves The Jingle Belles.

Robbie uses the clip to make light of his recent chart rivalry with his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow: At one point in the promo clip, the music stops and Robbie gives a little girl a Christmas present, and then asks her who her favourite singer is. She replies “Gary Barlow”.

Dream A Little Dream Of Me is set to be released in the UK on December 15 – the start of the race to this year’s Official Christmas Number 1 race; Robbie is no stranger to festive chart toppers with three already to his name (in 2001 with Somethin’ Stupid FT Nicole Kidman, in 2004 as part of Band Aid 20, and in 2012 as part of The Justice Collective with He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother).
